2024 Eid-al-Fitr in Taipei - Savoring Taipei, Celebrating Ramadan

"2024 Eid-al-Fitr in Taipei - Savoring Taipei, Celebrating Ramadan" will take place on April 14th at Daan Forest Park, announced the Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government on April 4th. This year, in addition to gathering various Muslim booths, they will invite over 10 food and handicraft experience stores to participate in the "Halal Certified Stores" event, hoping that people will gain a deeper understanding of Muslim cuisine and cultural.
The Department of Information and Tourism stated that Taipei City has been continuously strengthening its friendly and diverse image as a city of inclusion. Apart from holding the Eid-al-Fitr in Taipei celebration after the end of Ramadan to promote cultural exchanges, it is also committed to promoting a Muslim-friendly tourism environment, assisting accommodations and attractions in applying for Muslim-friendly certification. In 2023, it was honored by the internationally renowned Muslim travel promotion organization "CrescentRating" with the "Most Promising Muslim-Friendly Tourism Destination City Award - Non-OIC Category".
The "Halal Certified Stores" event will feature over 10 food and handicraft experience stores. People can visit these designated stores from April 4th to 14th, and as long as they spend a certain amount, they can receive a limited edition, specially made "phone strap".
Moreover, this year, an electronic stamp collection activity has been introduced. During the event period, spending a hundred dollars or more at designated stores will earn one point (up to three points per store), or spending at the Halal market on April 14th will also earn one point (one point per booth, regardless of amount spent). After collecting three points during the event period, visitors can exchange them for a convenience store voucher worth 100 NTD at the service counter in Daan Forest Park on the day of the event, limited to 200 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
This year's Ramadan Festival celebration also emphasizes the concept of sustainability and environmental protection. People who bring their own environmentally friendly tableware to the Halal market stalls can enjoy a 5 NTD discount for every 100 NTD spent. Additionally, those who sing along at the grassland entertainment area will receive a limited edition "phone strap" for the Ramadan Festival.
The Department of Information and Tourism added that on the day of the event, stage performances will be broadcasted live online, and there will be special additional lucky draw activities. People who watch the stage performance program through the "Taipei Travel Network FB" and like, share, and comment will have the chance to win an Apple Watch.
